The Center validated the TET certificate for life but the Gujarat government is still undecided
The Education Department of the Government of India had in June decided that the marksheet of the Eligibility Test (TET) for becoming a primary school teacher would now be valid for life instead of seven years. As part of which, the CBSE Board has extended the Central Teachers' Aptitude Test for becoming a teacher from 3 years to life. Even four months after the Centre's decision to extend the TET certificate for life as the Gujarat government has not been able to take a decision on it. Gujarat educationists have also expressed concern over the Centre's decision, saying that until a decision is taken on the duration of the TET certificate. It is not possible to recruit a teacher unless the district is Ahmedabad. So there is a demand for a quick decision on this issue.
Teacher recruitment is not possible before deciding on the term of TET-TAT certificate
Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is taken from the year 2011. The rules and structure of this examination have been prepared as per the guideline of the Government of India. The certificate of this examination was valid for seven years. But by amending in Gujarat, the certificate is considered for five years. The CBSE has decided to validate this certificate for life. The CBAC circular also said that the term would be extended for life until further notice by the government on the issue. Thus, the CBSE Board has announced that the certificates of the candidates who have passed the CCTVT examination will be valid for life. But as the Gujarat government has not yet taken a decision on the issue, it is learned that no action can be taken on the issue of new examinations and recruitment of new teachers.
