The Deendayal Port Trust invites applications from eligible and competent persons for engagement of Assistant Engineer(s) purely on contractual basis, for the posts as under
1. Assistant Engineer (Dredger/Tugs) (on contract basis)-Two Posts Educational Qualifications: A degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering from any recognized university or institute.
Experience: must have experience in maintenance of marine electrical installation for a period of 3 years in case of Degree holder and 5 years in case of Diploma holders or should have worked as Chief Electrical Artificer in Indian Navy.
Upper Age Limit: Maximum 65 years of Age as on the 01/06/2021.
Type of Employment: contractual.
Tenure of contract: Eleven months, extendable as per requirement with the approval of
Competent Authority and satisfactory performance of the contractual person.
Remuneration: Rs. 40,000/- +19% as Dearness Allowances Rs.7600/- Fixed Rs. 47600/-, DA
will be revised in case of extension of contract period. In case of pensioner, the total monthly
remuneration and pension drawn by the candidate shall not be more than the last pay (calculated
at current rate of Deamess Allowance), drawn by him.
Other Facilities: TA/DA, Port Accommodation, OPD facility and other facilities will be provided as per rules.
Brief Scope of Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Independent Electrical Shift Engineer on tugs.
2. Monitor operation, maintenance and procurement of spares for alternator, main engines,
D.G.
3. Attend electrical work while tugs are in operation.
4. Carry out repairs of various electrical machineries and mechanical equipment of tugs.
5. Supervision and control of staff posted. 6. Carrying out any other work assigned by CME/Dy.CME/Marine Engineers.
2. Assistant Engineer (Floating Craft) (on contract basis)-Four Posts
Educational Qualifications: Should have Engineer's certificate of competency issued under L.S.V. Act, 1917 OR Four years regular apprenticeship in Marine Engineering workshop recognized by the Ministry of Transport.
beExperience: must have two years' experience as watch keeping Engineering in ocean going
vessels OR four years' experience as Engine Room artificer or in higher post in the Indian Navy
with two years' experience as watch keeping engineer on ocean going vessels.

1. Independent watch keeping Shift Engineer on board the tug. 2. Defect analysis, rectification, routing maintenance of engine.
3. Supervision of routine maintenance. 4. Control the staff employed.
5. Carrying out repair on main engines, alternator engines and other equipment fitted on board and indenting spares & consumable items.
6. Also Carrying out any other work assigned by CME/Dy.CME/Marine Engineers
The engagement will be purely contractual at the terms & conditions as approved by the DPT board, for one years, extendable as per requirement with the approval of the Competent Authority and performance of the candidate. The eligible internal Port officers can also be considered, subject to the condition that on their selection, their engagement shall be only on contractual basis and they will be required to resign from the Port Services.
